Why do two imagined lines join together? One of them leads from Ramsau to St. Gallen whilst the other one leads from Gaishorn to Altaussee. Together they form an "X", at the same time creating the symbol of REGIONALE10 and marking the air route for an optical land survey of Austria's largest district within the Festival's frame. For their film documentation, the "Art-Media" company equipped the rails and interior of an ÖAMTC (Austrian Automobile Association) emergency helicopter with special so-called finger cameras. "The photos were shot at the lowest permitted altitude and at a speed of about 120 knots", said Hans Kraxner, who is a film maker.
Thanks to the fine weather and ideal flight conditions, he was able to shoot the film documentary during the 35 minute flight, which was planned to include prominent settlements such as Trautenfels, alpine regions featuring the summit cross on the Grimming mountain, the lake district of the Salzkammergut as well as industrial monuments like the Veitsch Radex GmbH in Trieben, thus covering the whole district in its complex organic make-up.
As post production has been completed by Art-Media, first impressions of the film are made available on our REGIONALE10 homepage.
