The association describes itself as follows:
"Creating a network for cultural and media-related initiatives called R*E*X was a major prerequisite for defining borders and helping to overcome them. The fact that the association unites initiatives and people who, independent of tourism-related, political or economical considerations, engage themselves in realising the requirements and wishes expressed within the region, implicates the growing understanding for regional impulses as well as for supra-regional and international input".
The REGIONALE10 has already begun.
It started with the establishment of R*E*X.
The concept "On the edge of the centre", which was presented by the above-mentioned umbrella organisation for cultural and media-related initiatives in Liezen District, convinced the international jury of the Federal Province of Styria because of its coherent and sensitive perception of the specific geographical, social, political, economic and cultural situation in the Liezen region.
The festival is managed by Dietmar Seiler and Werner Schrempf, directors of art and organisation, and both regional coordinators Karl Glawischnig and Reinhard Stockinger as well as 81.122 inhabitants of the region.
And they are really going to have their say. Communities, associations and clubs, businesses and private people are investing a lot of energy, knowhow and imagination in the project, participating in and supporting this unique Festival with their hearts and minds. They are looking forward to a festival which, by combining culture with everyday routine, will tell compelling stories of Liezen and its people to the rest of the world from a witty, yet serious perspective.
