The District of Liezen has been chosen to organise and carry out the upcoming regionale10. A highly competent jury of experts decided to nominate the Upper Styrian district of Liezen as the winning district amongst 17 others. I would therefore like to say special thanks to all those other competitors for their remarkably active participation in the competition. At the same time, the jury also nominated a director of art. Together with R*E*X, the association for cultural and media-related initiatives of Liezen District, Dietmar Seiler will be responsible for the realisation of regionale10 under its motto "On the edge of the centre".

The regionale considers itself to be a modern festival of culture that aims at promoting togetherness by means of cultural and artistic activities. Artistic, social and cultural approaches can lead to a forward-looking regional and supra-regional dialogue. When art, culture and everyday life intermingle, they generate new spaces for creative mediation by involving local inhabitants, and thus establishing long-lasting projects. Once more, Styria grasps the welcome opportunity of presenting itself as a country where culture is indeed a vital part of life.
