The grand opening event for regionale10 on 2 June 2010 in Trieben will be a superb celebration. During the weeks to follow, visitors can look forward to more than thirty projects including music and theatre, exhibitions and festivals, playful explorations of everyday life and unexpected encounters beyond.

Tune in

What does Trieben sound like? To tune in to regionale10, the entire town will resound: architectural landmarks will become musical instruments when a factory chimney and a community centre, a church tower, a maypole and fountain break their silence and compete with choirs, soloists and brass orchestras.

Exploring boundaries

The trail around the district of Liezen is 400 kilometres long, climbing a total of 40,000 m. The inhabitants of the 30 communities along the fringe are not in the lest daunted by these dimensions: They push to their limits - in the truest meaning of the word - and set off on an unusual tour over hill and dale, across mountain pastures, forest trails and over ragged rock faces.

Going International

Being foreign is not always easy. Tourists are perceived in a different way than immigrants. Some are seen as guests, some as intruders. Being foreign always also means gaining new experiences. New experiences connect the traveller with the host.

Play Admont

Books help explain the world. Art can do this too in its own unique way. However, the regionale10exhibition at Admont Monastery with its fine museum and wonderful library is not only about books and art. More than this is needed if we want to gain knowledge, and it all focuses on the human ability of reflection.

Fabricators of the world - Scenarios of self-will

What makes the region between Aussee and Trieben, between Schladming and Wildalpen unique? The exhibition in Schloss Trautenfels explores the scenarios of defiance and caprice, of singularity and peculiarity of the people living in this area and tries to find out to what extent their inner and outer scenarios coincide.

Station O

You never know when the unforeseeable will happen, but sometimes we are able to predict that it will happen. Gaishorn lives with the permanent threat of floods, land slides and mud-flows, especially in summer.

Learning from Liezen

Some people will certainly remember what it was like when Bruno Kreisky and Yasser Arafat met incognito at the Karow Hotel. That must have been around the end of the nineteen-seventies. One person certainly remembers precisely: Swiss town rebus creator, tracer of the past, collector of echoes and art imp Hans Peter Litscher.

What does the emotional map of a district as big and multi-faceted as Liezen look like? Do Liezen and Aussee have a thing going on? Who owns the Dachstein? The "Theater im Bahnhof" (TiB) theatre group from Graz visits the district, asks questions, observes, notes and records.

s‘Nullerl or A ganze Welt für sich

The play is more than one hundred years old and is still very popular, even though the topic seems to be completely outdated: Today we no longer have any penniless lodgers without an old age pension depending on the benevolence of a rich farmer.

Simply gone

Experience is sometimes the best material. Also on stage. The renowned director duo Nata&scaron;a Rajković and Bobo Jelčić display passion for theatre beyond its classic form. Their plays are often created without any script or context, simply based on the experience of the actors.

Do whatever you like!

They live on the outskirts: children and young people without families, left to their own devices they are used to taking care of themselves. When one of them finds a box of lottery tickets, their leader tries to redeem them in town. While he is away, the system of rules by which the children live starts to crumble. And when a strange girl enters the scene, the conflict threatens to escalate.

As can be experienced on a boat trip on the River Enns from Schladming to the beginning of the Gesäuse mountain range, sometimes an unusual perspective is all it takes to shed a new light on the world..

Music from the edge

Jazz, ethno, fusion, new folk: In the Enns Valley and in the Ausseerland region, people consistently make music off the mainstream. This beautiful tradition is taken up by a festival that makes jazz, blues, rock, avant-garde and ethno approach Alpine music on four weekends.

A walk-in concert? A musical journey on foot? It is actually not easy to pigeonhole this event. And that is exactly what the inventors intended. Living Liezen Legends

Folk tales and urban legends have one thing in common: the grain of truth they are said to contain. Urban legends, however, do not tell of dwarfs and carbuncle stones, but of spiders in the yucca. And they rather tour the towns. But this does not need to be that way.
